Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Are you an experienced Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic looking to secure high earnings, and a local field run? We are currently seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a dedicated fleet maintenance division servicing critical operational vehicles and machinery in Toowoomba.

This position offers an immediate start on a high-paying, consistent contract with long-term stability and continuous workflow.

• Premium Hourly Rate: $60.00 per hour + Super (paid weekly).

• Essential Fleet Services: Work on a diverse, high-spec fleet of service vehicles, utility trucks, and heavy machinery.

The Work

Operating as a key member of the fleet workshop, you will be responsible for diagnostic, preventative, and corrective maintenance to keep vital fleet assets operational and compliant.

• Fleet Servicing & Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance across light commercial vehicles, heavy transport, and mobile fleet assets.

• Diagnostics & Mechanical Repairs: Execute mechanical fault-finding, engine diagnostics, brake and suspension overhauls, clutch replacements, and hydraulic repairs.

• Breakdown & Compliance Work: Complete rapid fault resolution, pre-rego inspections, and mechanical sign-offs to maintain strict transport safety standards.

• Digital Logging: Input service notes, track replacement parts, and update electronic job cards to preserve fleet service histories.

What You Need

We are tracking for a safety-conscious, trade-qualified mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship and reliable turnaround times.

• Trade Qualification: Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle, Heavy Commercial Vehicle, or Mobile Plant).

• Safety Tickets: Current Construction Industry White Card.

• Pre-Employment Compliance: Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.

• Driver's Licence: Current, valid Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid [MR] or Heavy Rigid [HR] licence is highly advantageous).

• Rights: Full Australian Working Rights.
